“That’s some Amazing Grass maaaaan,”… the title of this one takes me back to my college days.
All joking aside, I’ve already compared this to a product called Athletic Greens in another review… but I wanted to get a little bit more in depth on why this is a quality superfruit supplement.
Before I dive into the product description, let me say that Amazing Grass is a standup company. They get it all right, from their products to their marketing claims.
That being said, I think this is a good greens drink… just not a great one.
Amazing Grass Green SuperFood is chock full of greens, nutrients, minerals, berries, and probiotics. They also managed to accomplish this without using artificial “juices” or powders. I put juices in quotations because they are just typically extract cocktails with sugar added.
However… it has no lecithin. There are those out there who don’t want lecithin in their greens drink. I am not one of them. Lecithin is essential for improving health and body composition. This is a big minus in my book.
For the price, you get a nice amount of ingredients as well as digestive enzymes and probiotics, which most cheap greens drinks don’t have.
I mentioned this in my previous review of Athletic Greens, but Amazing Grass tastes like the earth. If you’re into eating dirt, grass, and sand… then go for it. Honestly it’s not too atrocious, but you know you’re drinking some sort of grass when you guzzle this stuff down.
And when I say guzzle, I mean it. Don’t try to drink it slow or else you’re just prolonging it.
If you do want to get creative, it mixes very well with vanilla protein powder or meal replacement. Vanilla grass is better than regular unflavored grass I guess.
It works! It’s not as potent as some other products, but for the price you really can’t complain. It took me around 14 days to really get the full effect but I felt awake, alert, and energized. Keep in mind that specific results aren’t guaranteed and experiences may vary.
Pros and Cons
Lots of veggies, superfruits, minerals, and digestive enzymes.
Comes from a good company that uses high quality ingredients.
Tastes like bigfoot’s bath water.
There are better greens drinks out there that do way more for you… and taste good.
